I’m having a wonderful time researching. This is the best decision I’ve made in a long time – to join this festival. I’m also busy with finishing a book, but plan on increasing my time for this festival in about a week. I’m wondering if I can use the double time to make up for several days starting February 1 when I go in for shoulder surgery.

  2. Not a problem, Jazzy. Work ahead and give that shoulder time to heal or catch up after it feels better. The choice is yours.

Wishing you well with the surgery.

I can’t believe how well I’m doing on the research. It’s as if joining this made my brain organize just what I needed to learn. I’m working on a timetravel Viking/Scotland novel and a little while ago came across a website offering free Gaelic classes. I’m going to take that after I get back from rehab.

I wish I could join something like this all the time – not just during this period.

I’m ready to start my revising now, though I’ll still do more research. My research plans and needs seem to multiply like rabbits. Everything I read triggers an idea for something else.

This is really good, and despite my immobility, I’m getting a lot doe.

    Hi all,

I’ve been absent, but not because of my own choosing – came down with a rotten virus. I’ve just gotten back to the computer and now have a lot of catching up to do. However, I’ve downloaded lots of info that’ll help me begin my revisions, which I should have started already. I’ll have to claim 3 days of doing nothing. But, since I just handed a completed mss (a thriller/police procedural) to the police lieutenant who has been my tech advisor, I feel like I’m raring to go with my historial – as well as being doggon nervous about what his reaction will be to the book. I may be missing for a few days next week as my surgery is on Tuesday, but I confirmed with the rehab center I’ll be in that they have wireless and I can bring my laptop. The doc says I’ll be able to type in 2 days (I don’t believe that) but it’ll be four or five days before I get to the rehab place where I can get on the computer.

I’d like to promise to make up for time lost, but I know better. I’ll just dig in and do the best I can.

    Jazzy
