Day FIFTY and a Fond Farewell!!!!

Wow…I really can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Winter Writing Festival! It’s been a blast being here on the Brag Blog with everyone–if the WWF is like the Winter Olympics, the Brag Blog has been like the Kiss ‘n’ Cry Bench rinkside at the figure skating competition.

I’ve been so moved by people checking in to say they’d written more than they ever thought they would, and finished WIPs, and started new projects, and gotten into the groove of writing again.

I’m glad I’ll see a lot of you around the Ruby blog, and I hope I’ll see you all again for the second annual Winter Writing Festival next January!

Be sure you leave a comment over on the Ruby blog today to be entered in the final Festival Swag drawing! (And, if you feel so moved, look for the “donate” button on the log-in page of the Festival site–our wonderful web designer Liz Bemis footed the bill for hosting the RSSWWF on the server, and there’s good karma for anyone who feels able to pitch in a little something.)

Please, please, please, if you happen to see me at Nationals, come and say hello! I’ll be looking out for your names, and would love to meet you all in person!! Write on, friends!

  1. I tried to reach my 51 points tonight, but will have to do that last point tomorrow. I need to go sleep on things.

Thank you, ladies, for organizing the writing festival! I had a blast, and am looking forward to next year’s writing feast, when I hope to be even more productive.

Thank you to everyone who organised the WWF and especially the lovely ladies who took time out to host the writing ‘blasts’. They made such a difference – I just hadn’t realised how 20-30 minutes could achieve so much, and knowing I was doing it with people who I’ve come to think of as friends, even though we’re a whole ocean apart, made it somehow easier to keep up the momentum.

I discovered the RSS by accident really, when I clicked onto the WWF on a Blog I was visiting. Soon as I joined up I put the logo on my own blog, of course. I look forward to exchanging it for a Winners Badge sometime today. I would have achieved my fifty points yesterday, but Word decided to mess up my formatting, and I couldn’t find the rogue code, so I wasted time copying and pasting it all into a text document and from there into a new template, which meant I had to cross reference all my updates from the previous document. (Thank goodness for ‘Track Changes)’ Anyway, I’ll get that last point today and I am so grateful to the WWF for get some sort of structure in my day and helping me ‘break the back’ of my revisions for my latest novel.

It was so fun sprinting with you (across the globe) Lyn!! Congrats on all the progress you made, and wear that WINNER BADGE with pride!

  5. Emily Allen says:

I want to give a big thank you to all the ladies that made this festival possible. This festival helped me get back to my love of writing. I’ll see you all next year.
    :)

  6. Thanks again, ladies! I had so much fun, and this really helped me a great deal! What a ride! My first contract signed during this Festival, and another story I never knew I had in me nearly completed and ready to submit to an editor who’s specifically asked for it. What fun! :)

  7. Will the donation button be up past today? I want to donate but need a few days. :)
