Day Seventeen!
Posted by Rita Henuber Jan 26 2011, 3:01 am
WOW! Seventeen days and we’re going strong. Writing goals are being met and exceeded. Excitement is spreading like snow in the north east.
The goal of the WWF is to help us all get back on the writing track that the holidays knocked us off. If you didn’t make a daily goal, remember you can make it up another day.
Let us know what you’re feeling by checking in on the Brag Blog. Do you need encouragement or a little boost? Join one of the sprints our Grand Poo-Ba of Sprints, Kim Law, has scheduled. Writers of all levels from around the globe regularly check in to work on their WIP’s and chat. For the scheduled times go to the WWF Home page.
Go Team WWF!
It’s been a rough two day’s, I’ve been having some bad headaches. But today I’m going to get back at it.
So sorry to hear about your headaches, Emily! They can definitely take the wind out of a person and change their plans, no matter how good their intentions. Hope they ease off for you soon! Good luck with your writing today!
Thanks Kim. They have eased off. I was able to finish up my synopsis. But will take the rest of the day off.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about the headaches. Glad you’re feeling better today.
Woot! Started the day off right! Early morning sprints hosted by Vivi Andrews got me 2,200+ words already today. Couldn’t have been a better start! Thanks, Vivi!
I got a late start today since we got five inches of snow dumped on us this morning and I had to shovel the driveway to get my car up the incline to park it. We’re expecting 6-10 inches more to tonight. UGH! Now I’m going to buckle down and edit for a few hours.
So much snow. I won’t complain about our too cool weather.
I wrote three new pages before it was time to hit the swimming pool. Now that I have the fixin’s for chili and corn bread and have called the Marriott about the room confusion for National, I can get back to those pages. Maybe another three pages today.
What problem did you have with the hotel?
three pages editing or writing?
Met my word count by 1 word. Whew. It’s been a rough day. Fighting scenes are always slow to write.
Takes me forever to do a fight scene but I thinks ours are a bit different.
Finally thawed out after shoveling and salting now rain is falling, I’m adding another goal to my profile. Since my 500 words per day has me finishing my novella’s first draft by the end of this week, my new point earning goal is revising 500 words on this one and applying the old 500 word goal to the second which I start on Monday.
Congrats on being almost finished. Will the one you start Monday be another novella?
Hi Rita,
Yes. It’ll be the third in a trilogy I’m writing. With the city snowed under I may be starting it sooner. : )
snow storm do have a silver lining.
stay warm
Made my goal today by writing a short story as part of a challenge on a writing site where I hang out. That counts, right?
Sure does count.
Great sprints tonight! You guys are great
Happy to say I wrote 523 words today. Tomorrow I start on my new goals: revising this work and starting on the new novella.
it’s great to have a plan and keep moving forward. And meeting your goals certainly moves you forward
Just now sitting down to write. It’s 9:30pm in sunny California. I know the rain will come back, maybe even a little snow but until then it’s heater full blast in the morning and air conditioner in the afternoon.
I am a little sidetracked. Only managed 500 or so words yesterday but cut them all when my hero woke me up at 4 am to tell me I was going in the wrong direction. I should have just hopped out of bed and listened to him…
If I can get at least halfway to my goal in the next two hours I might be able to get some sleep tonight.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Got my point in with seven minutes to spare.
Yippeeee!
