Day Three, and Be Sure to Check Out the Sprints!

Welcome back!

Sounds like the Chat Room Sprints are going like gangbusters, and people are racking up terrific word counts! If you haven’t checked out the Sprints yet, go to the blue box at the top of the Festival homepage and look in the bright blue box in the upper left-hand corner.  You can also find Ruby Sister Kim Law’s explanation of how it all works by clicking the lower link in that box.

So how’s the writing going today? Go ahead and crow! We love to hear how it’s going!!

Yes! I participated in the sprints tonight and they were so much fun. I was very productive and I worked long after the sprints ended. Can’t wait to jump in tomorrow.

  2. I added to my #1k1hr early in the day by doing another for 520 words (cut short by kids waking up from nap). But I added a blog post this evening (One of my point options is 500 new words in the WIP + a blog post). So two points. Now I have a little breathing room as I prepare to teach a weekend class and go on a brief overnight trip. I want to get extra points using my metric now so that I have some padding if crazy stuff comes up later! (I wish you could do this trick with diets and exercise–then maybe I wouldn’t have the I-already-ate-a-brownie-syndrome.)

A check-in for myself: got my 500 words written tonight!

  4. I’m revising–onto the final chapter. It’s a hard slog!

I just wanted to say that I am having a ball joining everyone in the sprinting sessions. I have tried to hit as many as I can and have made at least two each day so far. Needless to say I am getting a lot done…did I mention I am getting A LOT done. I have also changed my goals each day as I am currently working on three projects. 3rd round edits on bk 1 finished on the first day; on to bk 2 – I’v actually managed to get through edits and rewrites of 322 pages so far. Of course I have done little else, hubby has been very supportive and brought diner home two of the three nights so far. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved!

have to say Virginia is one of the Hot Mamas in the 9-11am sprints. everyone in that time slot seems to be making their goals.
Me too ! but I forget to report.

  7. Elisa Beatty says:

Sorry I wasn’t able to update the Brag Blog post for Day Four!! We’re having technical problems with the site, and our webmistress is out of town today.

At least the chat rooms are working beautifully!

I hope everybody’s having a great day, and starting a super-productive long weekend!
