Day Twelve, and Don’t Forget to Update Your Progress Bar!

Happy Sunday! I hope this is a productive day for everyone!

I did indeed get back to serious work on my manuscripts yesterday, and it was a great source of happiness to be making forward progress again!

Please take a moment today to update your progress bar. When you’re signed in to the Festival site (go to “login” in the upper right-hand corner), click on “Edit Profile” and then scroll down on your profile page until you see the bar where you input your latest point total.

You can see the progress bars when you click on “About” on the toolbar at the top of the Festival home page, then click on Participants. You’ll be taken to a page with all the registered Participants listed, and you can see their progress bars.  Lots of people go ahead earning points without filling out the bars, but I find them fun and inspiring to look at.

Besides, I can’t keep track of my own point total any other way.

How’s it going today??

  1. Happy Sunday, Elisa! Congrats on making so much progress this weekend! You’re so great about posting continuously and you’re so encouraging of all of us. It takes a lot of energy to support such a large group and that should be recognized, too. =0)

Btw, I’m the same way…if I don’t update my points daily I forget what all I did. Have a great Sunday afternoon/evening!

    Thanks, Colleen!

Sadly, today is devoted to grading (urgh) and laundry and dishes (also urgh)….with my seven-year-old and his buddy playing Ninjago next to me and pleading for Chuckie Cheese’s.

Not quite the serene, coffee-sipping, gazing-out-the-window- at-lovely-flowers-while-thinking-of-my-next-sentence image of the writing life I once cherished….

    But it still works.

    • I think it is really hard to let go of that vision. For me, it was a serious grieving process and coming to grips with that this was how things would be–that there would be no ideal sitting-at-starbucks-for-hours writing life. But coming to accept the real reality was a big breakthrough for me. But man it is tough!!!!! Big hugs to you! Happy grading :P

  3. Yay Elisa! Progress is great! Yesterday was a long slog of teaching followed by mama duties followed by work email. Luckily, I built in a day off per week into my points system. I sprinted with Tamara & Shelley and the gang this morning for today’s point. Hoping to get another 1k in to get a double point day. Next week will be a hard grading week, so I might need to use some of the stash I’ve built up :)

Had a great time sprinting today. :) Bulled through one scene that’s been driving me nuts. It’s a great feeling. And I managed to walk a mile, too. I’m trying for a bit of balance. :)

I hope you have a great week!
