Day Twenty-Nine, and time for a Two-Minute Blizzard!

Okay, today’s tidbit isn’t so much for those of you snowed under in most of the country. This is for those stuck in the warm regions of the country, deprived of real winter, and longing for a little taste of deep-freeze. This video is 18 hours of a Chicago blizzard filmed from an apartment window, compressed by time-lapse into a little over two minutes. Gorgeous, lyrical, surprisingly moving! Check it out here:

LOL. Here in NYC the snow mounds are finally down to our knees. Anyway, I hit send and my ruby slipper sisterhood winter writing festival WIP has been officially entered in Passionate Ink’s Stroke of Midnight contest. What’s cool is writing the synopsis (which sucks big time) earned me my point for today and helped me fill a plot hole I kept falling into to. So all in all it’s been a long but good day. Thanks once again sisterhood.
Thrilled for you, Michal, on entering PI!!! Best of luck!
And congrats on plot-hole-filling!
What a crazy winter everyone is having! Nicole called me about noon to say they closed down APSU (Austin Peay State University – Clarksville TN) really fast because of the snow. It took another four hours or so for it to reach us here in Murfreesboro. Pretty, but without snow removal equipment it’s a pain.
Oh, and I made my writing goal today.
Hurray on the writing goal…not so much on the snow closure! Wow, when colleges close, you know it’s bad!
I suppose I shouldn’t talk about the sunburn I got from Little League tryouts this weekend. Gorgeous weather here in Northern California. The bad news is I didn’t get a lot of writing done over the weekend. Just plotting in my head and thinking about the direction I need to go in while doing revisions.
I did earn two points today. Revising is much slower than the actually writing. And harder, too. Hopefully I will catch up by the end of the week. I am taking the bold step and letting my husband read the first three chapters. I should have put that in my goals.
Yup, it’s been seventy degrees where I am…boiling yesterday when I took the kids to the zoo.
I have to say, I love watching that snow video. I grew up back East, and have very found memories of sledding, skating on frozen lakes, making snowmen….
It rained here all afternoon and evening, making for some dreary skies and extra writing time. Now that I’ve finished the story, the revisions are going well. I love my story again!
Sounds like good writing weather! Hurray on falling back in love with your story!
I love the whitestuff. We had some in the UK over Christmas but since then it’s been just damp and pretty miserable. I imagine it’s probably not so much fun when it’s as deep as that though! Great video!
