Lucky Day Thirteen, and Happy New Year!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
It’s the start of the Lunar New Year, so welcome to the Year of the Dragon!
Traditionally, the idea has been that how you act on the first day of the New Year will influence what happens all year: so do some serious writing today if you can!! (Okay, you’re also supposed to have your house spotless as a sign that all the detritus of the old year has been swept away….but that’s not happening around my place. It’s still good.)
How’s everybody doing today?
I have 15 points. That should tell you how clean my house isn’t.
Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about cleaning up for a Super Bowl Party.
I’m actually feeling the progress despite the distraction of football. If I keep it up I just might finish this thing before baseball season starts.
LOL, Kristina!
When does the Olympics start?? It’s Summer Olympics this time, right? So we’ve got time.
And congrats on the 15 points!!!!
Yikes, don’t mention a clean house!
Yesterday completely rocked! I had spent days on one scene, but once it was finally revised, I was able to blow through another 30 pages easily. What a huge relief.
Awesome, Gillian!
Tough weekend for writing so I need to kick off this new week better. You’ve fired me up with another fresh start Elisa! Que Rocky music–want to conquer this week! Need to! Thanks for the Monday morning cheering!
Da-da-DA, da-da-DA!!! I’m pumping my arms in the air for you, Marian!! (Though forgive me if I don’t run up the Philadelphia Art Museum steps…it’s cold out!)
I just hit 15 points. I’m very happy with my progress…but I think the husband and kiddo would like a little more attention. They’re really tired of my ‘just a sec’ responses lately.
Well, you’re a bit ahead! Give the fam a night of total indulgence, and then get back to your manuscript!!
I hit 16 points! Like everyone else, I could stand to clean a bit more. Thank goodness hubby is understanding.
Woo-hoo!!
I’m thinking messy houses are not just normal for writers, they’re essential!
Messy, messy, messy house right now. I did a new year’s resolution to do dishes. And I’m sticking to it (running the dishwasher every single night and emptying every morning regardless of whether it is “full”). But otherwise? I have two toddlers, I teach part-time, work online part-time, and write. Nothing gleams, but all is well loved.
I got my point today sprinting with the evening crowd. Was lovely!
