Day 4 – And Be Sure Your Muse Knows Where to Find You!

I hope everyone’s having a great writing day!

Stephen King is the ULTIMATE in making every day a writing day. He says, “Your job is to make sure the muse knows where you’re going to be every day from nine ‘til noon or seven ‘til three. If he does know, I assure you that sooner or later he’ll start showing up.”

You may or may not be able to be as faithful to your writing as Stephen King is, but I hope the Festival is helping you get a little closer to building a steady writing habit.

How’s it going today?

I Just watched a video on Youtube with Steven King explaining his writing process! He talked a lot about not letting plot get in the way of a good story.

Although Steven King’s writing advice is THE BEST, I greatly dislike his writing style. Two paragraphs into any of his older books clearly indicates his phobia of plotting. Where was his Editor? It is a shame to me because his writing is brilliant, just in desperate need of structure and editing!
This day two of my power being knocked out by a snow storm. I have faithfully written as much as I can by hand, but have no idea how many words. Running out of ink in my pen may give me some hint. I hope they fix the electricity by morning… My characters demand to be heard! 🙂
