Day 44 – And Don’t Forget the Drama!

Conflict! Conflict! Conflict!

Oh, it hurts sometimes to torture your characters, to steal away their dreams, to throw boulders in their paths, and chase them into crocodile-infested swamps. But that’s the stuff of which good stories are made.

What can you do with your story today to make your hero’s or heroine’s life just a little harder, to push their goals just a little further out of reach, even if it’s just to frustrate their progress towards a minor goal in your current scene?

Make them fight for every last scrap!! The ultimate happy ending will be all the sweeter for being earned.

And what about your conflicts? How’s it going today?
